About The Position

Join Buckelew Programs' new Rising Recovery Center and play a pivotal role in making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges in Marin County. We are hiring a Support Service Worker for the Rising Recovery Center, a short-term residential treatment center providing support to individuals experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. As the Support Service Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility by assisting Detox Counselors, supporting clerical and data entry tasks, maintaining a clean and safe environment, managing inventory, and organizing historical records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in data entry and general clerical work.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, with data entry and typing skills (minimum 45 WPM).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, professional, and supportive approach with clients.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • If in recovery, must have at least two years of continuous sobriety.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AA/NA Twelve-Step programs is strongly preferred.
  • Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or enrollment in an approved training program (CAARR or equivalent) is a plus.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter data into designated systems following established protocols.
  • Perform clerical tasks including photocopying, assembling packets, and filing.
  • Conduct regular cleaning tasks including dishwashing, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, and bathroom sanitation.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness and safety, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of client food, facility supplies, and other essential resources.
  • Organize and maintain historical files according to required retention standards.
  • Track client movement in and out of the facility.
  • Immediately report any concerns to the supervisor or on-duty Detox Counselor.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality at all times.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.
  • Support the program’s structure and uphold its mission in all aspects of your work.
