The Support Engineer I assists Support Engineers with researching electrical, electronic, and mechanical design and obsolescence problems involving existing company products and build-to-print jobs. The role reviews engineering drawings and indented Bills of Material for design updates, uses ERP software to create purchase requisitions and order parts, and tracks production-part progress. It also supports field requirements, travels to assist with installations and preventative maintenance, and maintains customer relationships during installation efforts. The position follows Atec’s AS9100/ISO policies and procedures, completes required records and training, participates in continuous improvement activities, cooperates with auditors, and reports deviations to the appropriate area manager or supervisor. Other related duties may be assigned. The work may involve extended hours or travel occasionally. The employee frequently handles tools and equipment and may encounter moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to high or precarious places and outdoor weather conditions is also noted. Noise levels vary by work location.
