About The Position

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM until route completion, with variable shifts possible. Ten to 15 hours of overtime are expected each week; weekend overtime is voluntary and may be needed. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Starting pay is $24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class-A drivers. The driver may assist with morning freight sorting and truck loading, deliver and pick up freight, inspect vehicles, and complete related customer and shipping documentation. Travel may be required. The role involves handling various types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals. Applicants must pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or successfully complete the company-paid CDL training program.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform the full range of motion required, including grasping, standing, squatting, climbing stairs, and walking.
Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers in a timely manner.
Inspect the vehicle and report mechanical problems.
Collect payments as needed.
Verify pickup contents against shipping papers.
Notify management of problems or discrepancies.
Maintain a professional personal appearance and keep the vehicle clean.
Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
Travel as required.
Perform other assigned duties.
