About The Position

The Supply Technician works with Henry Ford Health’s Supply & Distribution team at One Ford Place, the organization’s corporate headquarters in Detroit. The role prepares and coordinates shipments for credit, repair, exchange, evaluation, or case studies; coordinates freight vendor pick-ups; inspects parcels for shipping standards; and helps resolve routine issues and identify process improvements. The position supports delivery of Supply & Distribution services and helps ensure healthcare teams receive needed supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some computer knowledge and typing ability.
• Good communication skills.
• Approximately six months of previous experience in a warehouse, stock department, or requisitioning, ordering, or receiving supplies environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
• Familiarity with freight vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items for shipment, including items for credit, repair, exchange, evaluation, or case studies.
• Coordinate shipping arrangements and pick-ups with freight vendors.
• Inspect parcels to ensure they meet proper shipping standards.
• Assist in resolving routine problems and identifying process improvements.
• Perform activities associated with delivery of Supply & Distribution services.
