General Summary The Supply Specialist I conducts quality inspection and signs for equipment, materials, tools, and government property during initial receipt and transfer of inventories. Manages data in direct support of property accountability and traceability and other types of reporting requirements. Prepares and submits data forms as necessary to support the movement, storage, transportation, and property accountability of assigned equipment.

Requirements

  • Must understand hand receipt and inventory processes, equipment inventory layout procedures, and dealing with Supply Catalogs, Technical Manuals, and Hand Receipts Listing at the component list level.
  • Must have a good knowledge of inventory procedures.
  • Maintains good working relationship with management, production shop personnel, engineering, Program Manager, and Quality Manager.
  • Ability to understand and follow through with directions.
  • Ability to solve problems in standard situations.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of quality assurance.
  • Must be well organized and have superior attention to detail.
  • Must be capable of operating a forklift.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract.

  • Preferred knowledge of Deltek/Costpoint system.

Responsibilities

  • Loads/unloads material from trucks.
  • Packs and unpacks shipments; processes and organizes parts; pulls orders and processes data entry into computerized inventory control systems.
  • Processes and verifies inventory movement transactions; maintains overall accuracy of inventory and stock levels.
  • At direction of the lead, performs maintenance and upkeep of stockroom and other storage areas and consolidates existing stock to maximize space utilization.
  • Operates all lift equipment safely to ensure personal protection and to ensure the protection of other personnel and company property.
  • Performs material handling, storage, packaging, preservation, and deliveries to all programs.
  • Uses a computer to enter data and maintain inventory.
  • Transfers and stores items utilizing best practices during parts consolidation.
  • Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
  • Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
