POSITION SUMMARY: This Supply Planner is responsible for managing the master production schedule for Michael Foods, Inc. in a manner that optimizes cost, quality, and service. This process at MFI includes managing plant production capacities and executing inventory strategies. This position involves significant interaction with many different functional departments across MFI, including plant operations, demand planning, customer service, procurement, and distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, math, or industrial engineering preferred and 1+ years’ experience OR 3+ years manufacturing, distribution, or inventory planning experience.
  • Working knowledge of SAP SNP and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products suite with advanced capabilities in Excel.
  • Detail-oriented; self-motivated; a strategic, logical and analytical thinker.
  • Ability to focus on business process and project goals.
  • Able to prioritize to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to analyze information and provide fact-based recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to interact with all functions of the company.

  • APICS Certification—completed certification or in process preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop supply plans that achieve target inventory levels and customer service goals while minimizing obsolescence risk.
  • Utilize planning systems, including SAP, to generate accurate, high‑quality supply plans across near‑term and mid‑term horizons.
  • Gain thorough understanding of master data to drive intended planning results.
  • Monitor product availability and drive timely resolution of issues affecting customer orders.
  • Gain thorough understanding of plant capabilities and the corresponding impact to the master production schedule.
  • Coordinate phase-in of new products and phase-out of discontinued products.
  • Identify root causes of inventory imbalances and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and present KPI’s reflecting master schedule and inventory performance, understanding the factors that drive the results.
  • Collaborate with demand planners to understand demand drivers.
  • Support the monthly supply review portion of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
