About The Position

The Supply Coordinator assists in the development, implementation, and communication of sustained quality and resource-optimized measures during the intraoperative phase and advises the management team in the Surgical and Supply Chain departments on operational improvement, cost containment, preference card development, and supply utilization. This position requires a sound knowledge of supply chain movement and intraoperative clinical experience, as well as strong communication skills and leadership abilities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, or
High school diploma/GED plus four (4) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment, including at least two (2) years of inventory management experience and at least two (2) years of experience in a hospital setting.
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Rounds daily in the OR and Nursing Areas to communicate with surgeons/staff and obtain all updates to preference cards/supply needs.
Works collaboratively with Clinical Coordinators to maintain and update all preference cards/supply needs.
Works directly with surgery and Supply Chain to identify over- or under-used items after cases, for opportunities to decrease waste due to no use or expiring product.
Identifies cost-effective materials/supplies, and works with Supply Chain, OR Director, and coordinators to develop and implement plans to change where applicable.
Facilitates supplier/vendor changes that result in new or substitute products.
Works with Supply Chain, vendors, surgeons, and OR staff to coordinate new product trials and conversion efforts in a logical manner.
Maintains a progress record pertaining to core activities for reporting and facilitating system-wide improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
