About The Position

MatX is seeking a Procurement Specialist to establish and manage the procurement and spend-management processes for their hardware programs. This role involves overseeing the complete purchase-to-pay cycle, including issuing purchase orders (POs), tracking commitments, managing logistics, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The specialist will collaborate with Hardware, Finance, and Technical Program Management teams, as well as Business Development and planning. The position starts with hands-on transactional tasks and is expected to grow into owning material planning and influencing supply chain strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, logistic, or material management in hardware, electronics, semiconductors as a plus
  • Hands-on experience issuing POs, managing supplier logistics, and driving invoices to payment; you know how to work a purchase-to-pay cycle end to end
  • Proficient with procurement tools of purchasing and spend-management platforms
  • Attention to detail, able to manage complex supply chain data and reports with AI tool
  • Excellent communicator who is comfortable talking to suppliers, engineers, finance partners, and executives, and would rather pick up the phone than let an issue sit
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving startup where priorities shift
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and work from our offices in Mountain View Tuesdays-Thursdays.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process using procurement tools to ensure POs are issued based on lead times, track logistics including reverse logistics
  • Engage with sourcing, engineers, suppliers, and finance partners to keep all stakeholders aligned, requirements and update are documented, obtain approval for PO
  • Generate and maintain periodic reports, provide accurate supply chain data to the leadership team for strategic decision making, supplier performance and customer commitments, document changes
  • Proactively identify and escalate supply chain risks to ensure timely mitigation and prevent delays to critical build schedules
  • Work closely with Business Development, Finance, and Sourcing to keep procurement aligned with program schedules and budget, adapt to updates
  • Maintain meticulous, audit-ready documentation within spend-management platforms to support financial transparency
  • Help define scalable procurement processes and policies as MatX grows from prototype builds to volume
