This role is responsible for the overall periodic inventory management plan, including par levels, restocking plans, inventory accuracy, and required documentation. The specialist will facilitate clear and timely communication of supply needs between clinical areas and Supply Chain, utilize data to ensure an effective stocking plan, and investigate inventory discrepancies, taking appropriate corrective action. They will also coordinate department product changes, monitor for expired and obsolete products, and coordinate product transfers across the health system. This position involves physically stocking, processing returns, and picking supplies as needed, while communicating product delays and substitutes effectively. The specialist will assist in the development and implementation of process changes to support efficient, safe, and effective product management, consistently applying Supply Chain standards and best practices. Guidance and support for assigned projects will be provided, along with assistance in developing, collecting, and reporting supply-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The role also includes assisting with the management of consignment and vendor-managed products, attending clinical department meetings, and participating in Value Analysis and product review committees as needed. A key focus is prioritizing the needs of the patient and care team, communicating courteously and professionally, and utilizing information technology tools to optimize capabilities. Maintaining knowledge of OSHA, Joint Commission (JC), and other regulatory requirements, and ensuring Supply Chain equipment is in good working order are also essential functions.
