About The Position

Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. We are seeking an Operations Lead to support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of production or inventory management processes that comply with company policies and enable efficient operations. Activities may include monitoring production progress or inventory health, identifying and resolving operational issues, analyzing staffing and cost impacts, and coordinating capital equipment needs. This position acts as a key liaison between teams, ensuring cross-functional alignment, maintaining project timelines, and validating technical solutions. This position's internal job is Production Ops Spec. Our team is currently hiring for level 3.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment handling supply chain and inventory related tasks
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams
  • Experience working with various ERP/WMS systems
  • Proficiency with PC Applications, especially Excel
  • Excellent written and Verbal Communications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a security clearance.
  • Willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated ability to aggregate, visualize, and analyze data to make informed decisions (i.e. SQL, Excel, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with manufacturing process flows

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements production or inventory operations processes of moderate scope
  • Defines daily activities and resolves operational problems of limited complexity
  • Investigates product defects, production inefficiencies, or inventory variances and develops solutions to mitigate them
  • Reviews and approves technical documents, including work instructions, inventory procedures, and material-handling standards
  • Analyzes charging trends and supports development of projected staffing forecasts
  • Assists with capital-expenditure preparation and justification related to production systems or inventory storage/material‑handling technologies
  • Leads small-scale projects and contributes to research on proposed operational improvements
  • Serves as a primary interface with internal partners
  • Translates operational data into actionable plans for implementation
  • Compiles and provides management status reports for corrective and preventative actions
  • Monitors, assesses, and provides status on project progress, actions, issue resolution, and support needs
  • Represents Supply Chain on Supply Chain related issues
