Supply Chain Operations Intern – Undergrad Internship – Summer 2027 - Field
About The Position
As a Supply Chain Field Operations Intern at Lowe’s, you’ll gain hands-on experience inside one of the company’s distribution centers. You’ll work alongside operations leaders to understand how products move through the supply chain from inbound freight to outbound delivery, and how safety, efficiency, and accuracy drive success. You’ll support process improvement projects, learn performance metrics, and contribute to initiatives that help the supply chain deliver on Lowe’s commitment to customers. The 10-week summer internship program runs May 24 through July 30, 2027, and provides practical experience through hands-on projects across retail operations. The internship location is still being finalized; additional location information will be communicated closer to the kickoff. Facilities provide well-maintained work areas, modern equipment, and a culture that prioritizes associate wellbeing.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027, May 2028, December 2028, or May 2029.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Physical stamina to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to wear equipped PPE and work a full shift with a meal break.
Nice To Haves
- 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, specifically PowerPoint and Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, innovative problem-solving, analytical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Relevant internship or experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
- Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist supervisors and observe daily operational management to develop leadership skills.
- Learn distribution center processes, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Understand safety and compliance protocols for supply chain operations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Use operational performance metrics to evaluate productivity and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges and improve outcomes.
