About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you as a Supply Chain Manager! Based in our McKinney, TX location, you will manage the supply chain activities for new product development (NPD), Product Extension, and Cost Reduction initiatives by utilizing a combination of outstanding project management skills, a proven ability to integrate and function in multiple cross-functional development teams, and supply chain expertise across multiple commodities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business related discipline or a technical discipline or commensurate work-related experience.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain related functions.
Outstanding project management skills, preferably within front-end New Product Development teams.
Must be able to meet multiple commitments in cross-functional team environments under tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with suppliers in other countries.
Effective presentation skills.
Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirements, component requirement and customer specifications.
Experience with multiple facets of manufacturing of components (die casting, sand casting, stamping, machining).
Proficiency with Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word and Project management.
Must be able to travel domestically (roughly 20%).
Effective at driving accomplishments within, and outside of, established NPD teams without reporting authority.
Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available for this position).

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 8 years of domestic and international purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic responsibility for procurement/planning of mechanical components.

Responsibilities

Ensure effective execution of supply chain strategies and achievement of project objectives.
Manage NPD projects through completion by working closely with Design Engineers, Marketing, Quality Assurance and Materials, Buyers, Category Managers, as well as external suppliers.
Apply the Company’s Engineering Standard RES409 to all NPD projects.
Prepare and present NPD deliverables per RES409 to all levels of the organization, including senior staff, at formal and informal meetings.
Manage start-up inventory and materials planning with appropriate personnel to drive service levels without excess inventory.
Negotiate supplier long-term agreements with a focus on performance, cost containment and inventory reduction consistent with project strategy.
Assess supplier capability, cost benefit analysis, issue resolution, risk prevention and contingency planning.
Effectively drive task completion through non-reporting functions to meet NPD, Cost Reduction and Product Modification commitments.
Assess and effectively communicate technical risks, business requirements, deliverables and schedules supporting project initiatives.
Analyze technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations and supplier facilities.
Coordinate efforts between suppliers, engineers, quality assurance and procurement personnel to facilitate material substitutions and standardization of purchased materials.
Travel to suppliers and internal manufacturing facilities to review facility capabilities, quality systems and facilitate technical reviews.
Assist in creating objectives for team members.
