About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager will lead and supervise the daily activities of the purchasing department and warehouse, while building and maintaining strong relations with key and critical suppliers and contractors. This is a critical position that drives excellence into the purchasing department. All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of progressive materials/supply chain experience required.
  • Experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment required.
  • Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
  • Able to communicate goals effectively to a team.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Able to perform intermediate PC functions in Microsoft Office including the use of spreadsheet tables and formulas.
  • Able to proficiently use ERP software.
  • Able to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in non-standard situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, flexible, and easily adaptive to evolving and fast-paced working conditions.

  • Experience with material flow and utilizing supermarkets, point of use, and supplier pull replenishment models.
  • Extremely data driven and able to resolve problems by using available data, and constantly seek to gain knowledge and skills through deper utilization of available data.
  • Working knowledge and experience with resource planning systems and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred).
  • Project Management skills as part of cross-functional development teams, both leading and participating (and understanding critical requirements and difference of both).

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of previous supply chain leadership experience preferred.
  • Certified Production Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Management (CSCM) from APICS preferred.
  • Extensive fire truck product knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, evaluates, develops, and directs a team of purchasing professionals to ensure the organization has access to the necessary materials and inputs required to operate, and so that all materials and goods are ordered and delivered on-time, in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Creates, manages, approves PO’s per materials planning requirements (MRP) watches exceptions, and assures uninterrupted flow of materials that support the production plan.
  • Oversees the maintenance of inventory control systems (MRP) that track the status of purchase orders, inventory levels, and production requirements.
  • Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, orders, and other documents to co-ordinate materials ordering activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.
  • Develops and implements a continuous improvement culture through both internal and external key performance indicator (KPI) benchmarking with other RBA business units, documented standard processes and procedures, and has an openness for input and observation from others.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains both direct and indirect materials ordering procedures and activities to optimize resources, provide scalable solutions, timeliness, reliability, and safety standards for the organization.
  • Oversees Stockroom and Material Handling functions and resources.
  • Manages, trains and instructs stockroom personnel.
  • Assures inventory accuracy through accurate cycle count, receiving and material movement practices.
  • Establishes a working relationship with functional and operational area supervisors and managers so that the supply and movement of materials meets their current and future demand.
  • Works closely with Planning and Materials teams to achieve organizational goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serves as the business unit resource for Strategic Sourcing in developing bid packages, special reports, project implementations, etc., related to strategic and over-arching organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Sustain the Quality Management System with required departmental standards.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company and our members.
