About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and logistics. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services to support production and program execution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5+ years of supply chain, procurement, or purchasing experience
Prior experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer strongly preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contracting requirements
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Must be a U.S citizen.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries
Familiarity with DCAA compliance and audit requirements
Experience supporting DoD programs or government contracts
CPSM, CPIM, or related supply chain certification
Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping regulations and documentation.

Responsibilities

Coordinating and executing shipping and receiving activities in a manufacturing setting to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods
Maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations
Leading procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services
Developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met
Evaluating supplier performance using key metrics (OTD, quality, cost) and driving continuous improvement
Identifying and qualifying new suppliers to support program requirements and risk mitigation strategies
Negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, and terms in alignment with company policies
Overseeing material planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting to support production schedules
Ensuring timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet programming milestones and customer requirements
Monitoring and managing inventory levels, excess/obsolete materials, and cost optimization initiatives
Coordinating with Operations and Production teams to align supply chain activities with manufacturing needs
Ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable government contracting regulations
Maintaining procurement documentation and supporting audits (internal, customer, and regulatory such as DCAA)
Identifying supply chain risks (supplier, geopolitical, material shortages) and implementing mitigation strategies
Ensuring adherence to company policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices
Partnering with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to support new product development and production readiness
Supporting proposal efforts by providing cost estimates, supplier inputs, and lead time analysis
Participating in make vs. buy decisions and strategic sourcing initiatives
Driving process improvements across procurement and supply chain functions
Developing and implementing best practices, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and visibility
Mentoring and supporting buyers or junior supply chain staff (if applicable)
Tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership
