About The Position

The Supply Chain Engineer (SCE) is responsible for driving improvements in factory manufacturing availability and collaborating with factories to close material gap analysis plans caused by supply or quality issues. A key deliverable is optimizing the end-to-end raw material supply chain to ensure low risk, defined business continuity plans, and reduced waste through optimized usage. The role involves managing and driving quality issues related to supplier safety, quality, and site MQI closure performance. This may include leading task forces and 8D work with suppliers to close prevention plans, and driving continuous improvement and quality enhancement with suppliers in partnership with FCS/GMO teams. The SCE is responsible for driving manufacturing availability (MA) performance across toolsets within the factory by eliminating material capacity and quality risks in partnership with factories and Material Program Managers (MPMs). This includes problem definition, roadmap building, and supplier engagement/escalation to resolve material limitations. The role also involves working with factory modules and leadership to improve cost structures, drive performance to outcome-based contracts, and identify cost-saving contracting opportunities. As a senior SCE, the candidate will lead, coach, and mentor less experienced SCEs, and drive Intel-wide improvements and standardization. This position covers critical manufacturing floors (C4, Die Prep, Die Sort, Wafer Level Assembly) within the wafer packing manufacturing ecosystem, aiming to optimize the materials supply chain in the advanced packaging ecosystem to exceed internal Intel product and Foundry customer commitments. Responsibilities include supporting management/senior leadership in incorporating process and quality improvements into Intel's supply chain and logistics strategy, defining material inspection methodologies, conducting cost control, process control, and production yield studies, and implementing plans to optimize the supply chain. The role supports long-range product plan development by defining next-generation methodology capabilities for Intel's supply chain roadmap, exploring and benchmarking emerging industry technologies, and contributing to Intel's future technology definition and requirements. It involves highlighting gaps between roadmap strategy, manufacturing capability, and market demands, and recommending solutions. The SCE will track supply demand trends, conduct root cause analysis for process and quality improvements, and collaborate with supply chain leads to implement solutions. They will lead supplier selections for new business in partnership with commodity managers and technical/quality partners, driving product and purchase specification content for compliance. The role includes performing alternate sourcing risk mitigation for single-sourced commodities, establishing control standards, determining KPIs, monitoring performance, and driving root cause analysis for supply chain issues. Additionally, the SCE will drive supplier process window validation activities and improvements in quality, reliability, yield, and cost, while maintaining quality standards and systems, creating specifications to minimize variability, and leading quality excursion management and failure mode analysis with suppliers.
