About The Position

Rare earth elements (REEs) power technologies such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, and advanced electronics. Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is at the forefront of building the REE industry right here in Saskatchewan and we’re looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to be part of operating our Rare Earth Processing Facility. The role is accountable for coordinating procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management activities to ensure the timely and efficient availability of materials and services required to support commissioning, startup, and operational activities.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a diploma in supply chain, business administration or other relevant areas.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in supply chain and procurement.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain procedures, practices, and systems.
  • Proficient with standard office and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, procurement tools, spreadsheets).

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in supply chain management or related training is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate, assess, and resolve routine to moderately complex supply chain issues while applying sound judgment and escalating higher risk matters as appropriate.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and other functions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate competing demands, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in the management of procurement, inventory, logistics, and supply chain documentation.
  • Ability to understand and apply regulatory, transportation, customs, and company requirements related to procurement, inventory management, and the shipment of regulated materials.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate sourcing and procurement activities, including supplier identification, RFx preparation and execution, technical support during bidding/evaluations, and implementation of supply agreements.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding, qualification, performance monitoring, and supplier relationship management activities.
  • Coordinate purchase requisitions, purchase orders, order expediting, and deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment of business requirements.
  • Coordinate inventory control activities, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and investigation of inventory discrepancies, ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained.
  • Coordinate the shipment of Class 7 radioactive materials by supporting logistics arrangements and preparing shipping, customs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and other stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize demand, and coordinate supply chain activities.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to scope, pricing, quantities, invoices, receiving records, and delivery timelines, escalating unresolved or higher-risk issues as required.
