About The Position

The Consultant role is a pivotal position for highly motivated, driven individuals eager to accelerate their careers in healthcare consulting. Consultants will also develop strong client-facing capabilities, including presenting to C-suite executives and senior stakeholders. You will learn to ask the right questions, create high-quality deliverables, and rapidly identify areas of value, preparing you for impactful careers in consulting or leadership roles in industry. By taking ownership of key initiatives and contributing to high-visibility projects, you will play an essential role in driving meaningful outcomes for clients and the organization. Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Pharmacy Practice Solutions and in collaboration with other consulting professionals, the Managing Consultant - Supply Chain is responsible for owning and delivering essential components of client service engagements related to health-system supply chain, identifying new business opportunities within existing clients, and owning various aspects of practice development, as assigned. Applicants should be well-versed in operational design and execution of a pharmacy consolidated services center (CSC) or similar environment.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree is required, such as a PharmD, MBA, MHA, MS, or PMP.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 7–10 years of experience in a hospital or health system setting, with at least 3 years in a managerial, director, or solution specialist role, or a minimum of 5–8 years in a supervisory or project lead consulting role, ideally within the healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of problem solving, performance improvement, process implementation, and change management.
  • Managing consultant role will require specific operational expertise in central medication distribution to areas like acute care, clinic, retail, and/or compounding suites.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy financials and accounting highly desirable, including pharmacy purchasing optimization.
  • Ability to manipulate data in Excel, PowerBI, or other data visualization tools and build branded client-facing business presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma, Pharmacy Board Certification, or healthcare fellowship is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Scopes, plans and manages multiple engagement work streams, ensuring quality, cost and delivery requirements are achieved; structures deliverable content and develops recommendations and solutions.
  • Leads external client meetings and manages overall service delivery and strategy.
  • Communicate financial projections and operational outcomes concisely to an executive audience.
  • Documents, escalates and resolves client engagement issues and risks as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver guidance to clients and provide structure to projects in the midst of missing or ambiguous data, leveraging experience and market knowledge to inform a successful approach.
  • Own delivery and development of client presentations and proposals.
  • Identifies and develops service add-on engagement opportunities within existing clients.
  • Partner with adjacent solutions to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients that bridge multiple portfolios.
  • Contributes to new and or enhanced methods, approaches and tools for accomplishing work.
  • Contributes to publications, speaking engagements, and digital material that builds Accelerate Pharmacy Solutions market presence.
  • Actively supports Cencora recruiting efforts.
  • Provide clear and concise recommendations to internal and external clients under tight deadlines while adapting to shifting priorities or data.
  • Successfully manage financial expectations related to assigned portfolio of customers.
