Supply Chain Capacity Engineer - Business Enablement

Meta•Menlo Park, CA
•$154,000 - $217,000

About The Position

Meta is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to join its Infrastructure Supply Chain and Engineering (ISCE) team, focused on operations and business enablement across infrastructure supply chains for servers, data centers, and networks. The role optimizes supply chain operations, manages the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, and plans across multiple levels to balance capacity, flexibility, supply capability, and cost—from base components and manufacturing through finished goods. It operates amid continual product introductions and large annual investments, with a focus on software and workflow automation rather than manual spreadsheets. The position works closely with supply chain partners and engineering and business teams to support Meta's infrastructure growth. It contributes to the optimal deployment and operation of infrastructure, considering cost and technology across servers, data center capacity, and advanced technologies including AI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience designing and implementing models, optimization algorithms, operations research, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with coding or scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, or PHP.
  • At least 3 years of supply chain management experience, such as order management, planning, manufacturing, operations, or inventory.
  • Experience working with distributed systems at scale.
  • Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge.
  • Experience with planning, optimization, modeling, or performance analysis.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

  • Ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt or context engineering and agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience using business intelligence or data visualization platforms to build supply chain reporting and capacity coverage dashboards.
  • Experience with data center infrastructure supply chains, including procurement and deployment planning for server hardware, networking equipment, or storage systems.
  • Familiarity with statistical forecasting methods or demand planning tools applied to infrastructure or hardware supply chains.
  • Track record of applying AI or automation tools to improve planning workflows, forecast accuracy, or supply chain visibility.
  • Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, such as risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact, such as efficiency gains or quality improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Own infrastructure supply chain planning and operations as part of Meta's overall capacity plan, covering servers, network, and data center equipment from components through manufacturing to finished goods.
  • Design improvements to software systems that increase supply chain operational efficiency and quality; partner with software engineers to implement improvements and contribute code.
  • Develop and analyze business and technical data and scenarios to solve complex supply chain problems and support decision-making.
  • Build mathematical models to simulate and optimize supply and demand projections, scenario planning, and gap-closure analysis while balancing constraints, product mixes, and costs.
  • Contribute to end-to-end supply chain processes, methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized supply plan.
  • Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions across the supply chain.
  • Work cross-functionally to define problems, collect data, build analytical models, and recommend changes and optimization at strategic levels.
