About The Position

This role is for an 8-month contract position where the successful candidate will be part of the Supply Chain team, reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Sr. Manager. The role involves participating in cross-functional initiatives to improve the overall planning process and applying enterprise-wide programs. The Associate Buyer will be responsible for placing and expediting orders to ensure component and packaging material availability, managing order processing, including purchase orders and blanket order monitoring, and ensuring supply reliability, efficiency, and agility. The position requires strong communication skills across all sites and will involve procurement of printed and packaging components and raw materials, negotiating with suppliers, resolving discrepancies, and managing purchase requisitions. The role also includes handling projects of moderate complexity, identifying cost opportunities, problem-solving, maintaining cGMP documentation, ensuring audit compliance, coordinating returns, and monitoring Key Performance Indicators. The Associate Buyer will analyze and communicate operational performance metrics and respond to crises and resolve issues arising from competing objectives, limited resources, or differing perspectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years relevant experience
  • No more than 3 years of experience.
  • High school/GED + 4 years of relevant work experience OR Associate’s + 2 years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s + 6 months of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

  • Procurement of printed and packaging components and raw materials.
  • Place, expedite and/or negotiate orders with suppliers and resolve receiving and invoice discrepancies.
  • Receive, evaluate, and process purchase requisitions for materials and services in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Manage purchase orders, vendor-managed inventory, or other supply agreements, which could include expediting, monitoring, and updating purchase orders.
  • Handle projects with a moderate level of complexity, including special projects to identify cost opportunities and savings.
  • Be innovative when problems arise and find solutions within common business and manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain purchasing documentation to cGMP standards.
  • Ensure audit compliance readiness of purchase orders and related records.
  • Monitor and coordinate returns of goods.
  • Organize, analyze, and communicate metrics and data to highlight operations performance.
  • Respond effectively to crises and resolve issues arising from competing objectives, limited resources, or differing perspectives.
  • Issue Purchase Orders.
  • Follow up with vendors on open PO's.
  • Consolidate trucks to maximize transportation savings.
