About The Position

This full-time Supply Chain Associate position is based at Fastenal’s branch at 2230 Meyer Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role combines inventory management with business-to-business operational support, including procurement, sourcing, and quoting to meet customer needs. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding and training and upon meeting performance goals. The position includes on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual training.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a current, full, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including completion of any applicable graduated license program, and meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
• Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Have proficient computer skills.
• Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 75 pounds.
• Pass the required drug screen where applicable in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Guam.

Responsibilities

• Manage branch inventory levels.
• Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
• Estimate and quote prices and source products.
• Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
• Support accounts receivable activities.
• Make deliveries using a company vehicle as necessary.
• Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
