About The Position

This part-time position is based at Fastenal's branch at 5610 4th St Ct SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Supply Chain Associate manages inventory and supports business-to-business operations through procurement, sourcing, and quoting to meet customer needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for up to 28 hours per week. Training includes on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual learning opportunities.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a current, full, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including completion of any applicable graduated licensing program, and meet company driving-record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Have proficient computer skills.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrate the company's core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 75 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen in the US, Puerto Rico, or Guam.
Pass a sex offender registry check required by a customer or contract served by this location.
Comply with any customer site access authorizations required by a customer or contract served by this location.

Responsibilities

Manage branch inventory levels.
Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
Estimate and quote prices and source products.
Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
Support accounts receivable activities.
Make deliveries using a company vehicle as necessary.
Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
