Supply Chain and Logistics Manager
About The Position
The Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics leads the end-to-end flow of raw materials, resources, and finished goods to support operational excellence, on-time delivery, and optimized working capital. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role oversees strategic raw material purchasing, supplier relationships, production scheduling, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics. Success measures include zero recordable safety incidents, inventory variance below 3%, inventory turns of at least 10, Ship-to-Promise above 98%, and professional growth of the supply chain team through promotions and skill development. The position establishes department objectives aligned with company growth goals and develops team capabilities through visual management, standard work, and structured performance reviews. It works with Production and Sales to support the developing S&OP process and leads projects as needed.
Requirements
- Understanding of procedural best practices in supply chain management.
- At least 5 years of progressive supply chain leadership in a manufacturing environment, including experience in raw material procurement and logistics management.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and automated inventory barcode scanning.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing raw material contract lifecycles.
- Bachelor’s degree; supply chain preferred.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, and squat.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Sage 100 ERP/MRP and Scanco automated inventory barcode scanning.
- Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean training.
- Supply chain certification such as CSCP or CPIM.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Establish annual department objectives aligned with company growth goals and develop team capabilities through visual management, standard work, and structured performance reviews.
- Conduct quarterly performance and progress reviews with each direct report.
- Hold huddles with direct reports to prioritize weekly activities.
- Optimize and maintain MRP/ERP planning parameters to ensure material availability, balance inventory levels, and eliminate scheduling bottlenecks.
- Lead projects as needed.
- Ensure adherence to the cycle-counting process and meet or exceed corporate goals.
- Direct production scheduling and capacity planning to achieve Ship-to-Promise above 98%, partnering with Production and Sales to support the S&OP process.
- Direct warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations, ensuring material handling, FIFO compliance, inventory accuracy, and dock-to-stock velocity.
- Lead strategic raw material procurement and vendor negotiations, establishing favorable commercial terms, service-level agreements, and reliable multisource supply chains.
- Oversee procurement of silicone gums, polymers, additives, packaging, and operating supplies to maintain uninterrupted production supply while minimizing carrying costs.
- Establish supplier scorecards assessing quality, on-time delivery, and lead times, and implement risk mitigation strategies such as dual-sourcing and safety-stock models for critical raw materials.
- Partner in S&OP to balance demand forecasts with raw material lead times and manufacturing capacity.
