About The Position

Smithfield is seeking a motivated professional to join their Supply Chain team. This role will facilitate the distribution of Smithfield's products to customers and consumers. The Supply Chain Analyst will analyze production metrics against market needs in Supply & Demand Planning, focus on product transportation through Logistics, and ensure product availability through Direct Store Delivery. The position is responsible for supporting company goals in analyzing business operations to minimize costs, maximize process efficiencies, and improve the customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years’ relevant experience in an analytical role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of supply chain process flow and customer relations from a supply chain perspective.
  • Excellent computer and technological skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Strong working knowledge of Power Bi and SAP.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience involving customer contact, problem resolution, and related product knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Capability to present data in a clear and concise manner to all levels of management.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) experience preferred.
  • Capable of learning new IT systems as tasking and management data needs evolve.
  • Must display an aptitude and eagerness for learning and developing new business and technical skills quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in cross-departmental communication to support continuous supply chain improvement.
  • Analyze business results, track key targets, and provide reports to various teams.
  • Handle sales reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Lead key performance indicator reporting.
  • Mine data systems (SAP, SAP BW, Power BI, etc.) to create meaningful reports and metrics.
  • Provide detailed reports on top customer activity and track KPIs like Fill Rate and On-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive KPI performance and lead meetings with Sales and customers.
  • Develop processes to coordinate data shifts and analyze supply chain activities to identify issues and improve processes.
  • Present strategic recommendations to management and continually refine business processes.
  • Manage forecasting for sales channels.
  • Maintain customer master data.
  • Coordinate seasonal orders.
  • Support optimal shipping locations.
  • Participate in audit support roles.
  • Communicate critical concerns to senior leadership.
  • Manage distressed, donation, and tankage reporting.
  • Monitor performance against OTIF guidelines.
  • Create executive summaries and present updates to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with logistics processes.
