Position Summary The SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) Analyst for the Laboratory Chemicals Division is responsible for coordinating and leading the monthly SIOP process to align demand and supply across a complex portfolio of chemical products. This role serves as a key interface between Commercial, Operations, and Global Supply Chain to ensure a balanced, executable plan that meets customer service, inventory, and financial objectives. The analyst drives alignment across stakeholders, manages supply-demand risks, and ensures visibility to constraints related to production capacity, raw materials, and other end-to-end risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Exposure to SIOP/S&OP processes and cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex, high-mix product portfolios.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP/planning systems (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of supply chain constraints specific to chemical manufacturing (e.g., batch processes, hazardous materials, shelf-life).
  • Effective communication and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS/IBF certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Experience in chemical, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly LCD SIOP process, including Demand Review, Supply Review, Pre-SIOP, and Executive SIOP.
  • Coordinate inputs from Commercial, Demand Planning, and Site Operations to ensure a robust and aligned plan.
  • Develop and maintain the SIOP calendar, ensuring adherence to standard timelines and deliverables.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations highlighting key risks, opportunities, and decision points on time and fully completed.
  • Ensure clear tracking of actions, decisions, and escalations across the SIOP cycle.
  • Find and action SIOP process improvements to support the Thermo Fisher PPI culture.
  • Support the global sites with questions and/or initiatives regarding inventory strategies as they relate to service level targets and any investment needed.
  • Reinforce the S&OE process within LCD to ensure more seamless integration with the monthly SIOP cycle and improved execution discipline.
  • Evolve site S&OE functionality at a site level.
  • Develop and maintain SIOP dashboards tracking key LCD metrics such as forecast accuracy, service level, inventory turns, and E&O.
  • Support root cause analysis on forecast deviations, supply disruptions, and inventory imbalances.
  • Ensure data accuracy across planning systems and alignment between demand and supply plans.
  • Provide actionable insights to support decision-making at site and division levels.
  • Link SIOP data result to Kinaxis for full end-to-end Supply Chain visibility.
  • Identify supply-demand gaps driven by capacity constraints, raw material shortages, or regulatory impacts.
  • Escalate critical risks and drive cross-functional mitigation plans.
  • Support contingency planning for supply disruptions, including alternate sourcing or production rebalancing.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of SIOP processes within LCD.
  • Ensure alignment with Global Supply Chain standards and reporting requirements.
  • Support implementation and adoption of digital planning tools and advanced analytics.
  • Partner with global and regional teams to share best practices and improve SIOP maturity.
