About The Position

The Supplier Quality Representative visits supplier and vendor facilities to perform quality surveillance activities defined by the assignment scope. The representative verifies, through monitoring, observation, document review, witnessing examinations and tests, and selective hands-on inspection, that supplier-furnished material and equipment meet recognized codes and standards and procurement-document requirements. The representative rejects nonconforming material, works with suppliers and project supplier quality personnel to resolve nonconformances, releases conforming material for shipment, and reports surveillance results to project personnel and the customer. The representative serves as the client’s primary contact at the supplier and verifies compliance with the technical and quality requirements of procurement documents. The role includes reviewing requirements and readiness before fabrication; monitoring supplier operations and inspections; reviewing quality records; controlling and documenting findings and corrective actions; coordinating releases, reporting, and schedule interfaces; and maintaining records in client systems. Remote surveillance technologies may supplement, but do not replace, in-shop presence and judgment. This is a 12-month contract, onsite role covering the Columbus-to-Cleveland, Ohio area, with candidates from other parts of Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Indiana also potentially considered. The schedule is Monday through Friday on a swing shift spanning day to night, with overtime required based on business needs. Frequent travel to supplier and vendor facilities is required, and the representative must be comfortable traveling most of the time. Travel expenses are reimbursed. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available. The work takes place in industrial fabrication environments, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, dust, fumes, and moving equipment. Required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times. Physical demands include climbing ladders and stairs, working at elevation, entering confined or restricted spaces when authorized, standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting and carrying inspection equipment weighing approximately 25 pounds.
