About The Position

The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for turning the Supplier Quality Strategy into action and leading a team of supplier quality engineers. The role will focus on enabling efficiency within our operational teams, launching new products and continually improving the Plexus supply base while maintaining compliance to the Plexus Quality Management System. The Manager is an active leader who establishes efficient, frequent and collaborative relationships with Operations, Process Engineering, Customer Facing Teams, Materials Management and other quality professionals in a dynamic environment. Success in this role is dependent on the team's ability to maintain compliance, exceed customer expectations and mitigate risk within the supply base. This role will routinely guide teams based on a wide variety of experiences within the supplier quality function.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, TL9000, ISO 13485 and FDA GMP Quality System requirements required for this role.
  • Leadership, Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 or more years of related experience is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Formal Quality certification (CSQP, CQE, CQM) preferred for this role.
  • Expertise in GD&T preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage priorities and allocate resources in support of business growth by applying elements of Advanced Product Quality Planning using a multidiscipline team of supplier quality engineers.
  • Expertly guide teams as they flow Customer Requirements to Suppliers as one of several elements within a Production Part Approval Process tailored to risk and completed according to program timelines.
  • Partner with materials management ensuring supplier quality is mitigating risk in the supply chain by applying supplier auditing, part qualification, supplier monitoring and supplier corrective action processes.
  • Own a portion of supplier risk through supplier evaluation, supplier monitoring and an annual audit program.
  • Continually improve suppliers using these two risk streams as primary guides for actions taken by supplier quality and presentation of trending data.
  • Own receiving inspection driving throughput, backlog and application of technology to measure characteristics of components following standard sampling tables.
  • Coach supplier quality engineers in applying receiving inspection criteria as an extension of part qualification.
  • Track costs of quality and drive non-conforming material processes where suppliers are needed for further investigation, correction, containment or identified at fault.
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude and quality acumen through customer interactions and escalations representing the Plexus Brand and demonstrating, through example, Plexus Core Values expected of our teams.
  • Coach, teach and mentor quality professionals assisting them in finding on-the job experiences in line with personal passions as they grow professionally.
