About The Position

Grand Design RV is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to oversee supplier quality processes, ensure compliance with industry standards, improve supplier performance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. The role works with suppliers to enhance the quality, reliability, and efficiency of components used in RV production. The manager develops and maintains supplier quality systems, leads and develops supplier quality teams, conducts supplier audits and risk evaluations, and manages supplier approval, documentation, and qualification. The position also partners with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to address supplier-related challenges and provides suppliers with technical guidance and training. Frequent travel to supplier locations is expected, and an early-start schedule is typical, usually at or before 7 a.m.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality management, preferably in the RV, automotive, or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of supplier quality management systems, auditing, and risk assessment.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant quality standards.
Proficiency in quality tools and software.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Willingness to travel to supplier locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification.
Experience in RV or automotive supplier quality management.
Knowledge of welding, plastics, chemicals (adhesives), and electrical systems used in RV manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality management systems to meet industry regulations and company standards.
Lead and develop supplier quality teams through mentorship, training, and performance management.
Collaborate with suppliers to improve product quality, reduce defects, and enhance supplier performance.
Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and risk evaluations.
Establish and track supplier quality KPIs and drive corrective action initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related quality issues.
Work with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve supplier-related challenges.
Provide suppliers with technical guidance and training on company quality expectations.
Build supplier relationships through regular communication and collaboration.
Manage supplier approval processes, documentation, and qualification activities.
