About The Position

Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Analyst. This role is based at our Davenport, IA facility. The successful candidate is responsible for the deployment of supplier development and improvement processes across the Eaton Mission Systems supply chain to achieve improvement in both quality and delivery performance and enhance supplier capabilities to meet future business needs.

Requirements

  • Associates from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED with 5 years Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years Quality experience working in manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with metrology, gages, and measurement techniques.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science Field (i.e., Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
  • Minimum of 2 years working directly with Customers or Suppliers on Quality related issues
  • 2+ years’ experience with AS9100/ISO9001, MIL-STD, ISO13485, or IATF 16949
  • 2+ years’ experience with AS9145, AS9142, and AS9102
  • 2+ years’ with Quality Management System (QMS) Auditing
  • 2+ years’ experience with Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lifecycle Management (LCM) experience.
  • 1+ years’ experience in reading and interpreting technical documents, including prints (GD&T), drawings, and engineering orders.
  • Military aviation or aircraft modification experience
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Reliability Engineer
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is highly desired, including associated tools such as characteristics matrices, process flow diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Project/Program Management experience
  • Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with engineering disciplines and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Serve as a Quality member on Material Review Board (MRB), Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and corrective action teams.
  • Monitor, track, and report supplier performance metrics (e.g., quality, delivery responsiveness), and drive corrective actions for underperforming suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality performance, reduce defects, and improve on-time delivery.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Perform necessary tests with equipment and effectively document test results.
  • Formulate or assist in the preparation, review, and approval (if applicable) of quality documents such as plans, policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Participate in and/or perform various audits and compile corresponding reports when required.
  • Manage customer, supplier, and internal communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring they are handled appropriately.
  • Document and report concerns via internal tracking methods including but not limited to nonconformance records.
  • Escalate critical supplier quality issues and support containment actions, including shipment holds, or supplier corrective action requests, as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001), regulatory requirements, and customer-specific quality expectations.
  • Support the adherence of Business Management System (BMS) processes by all functions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer expectations.
  • Perform Root Cause Corrective Action utilizing disciplined methodologies such as 8D to ensure effectiveness.
  • Witness and audit the building and testing of products as needed at supplier sites.
  • Perform risk analyses and implement associated mitigations.
  • Assemble and verify customer PPAP submissions for acceptance as needed.
  • Review all customer/program deliverables and activities and verify completeness.
