Work Study, Supplemental Instruction Leader (Learning Commons)

Cuyahoga Community CollegeHighland Hills, OH

About The Position

The Supplemental Instruction Leader (Learning Commons) role involves facilitating collaborative review sessions for students. The leader will conduct weekly, interactive small-group sessions to help students process and master course content without re-lecturing. This role also integrates study skills into content review, weaving learning strategies, organizational techniques, and test-preparation skills directly into session activities. The goal is to foster an inclusive, low-stakes learning environment, creating a safe, informal, peer-led space where students feel comfortable asking questions and practicing new skills. The leader will apply active-learning facilitation techniques, using questioning and group-facilitation strategies that promote peer-to-peer problem-solving and collaboration, rather than supplying direct answers.
