About The Position

Under supervision, the Supplemental Health Claims Associate analyzes and processes claims and recommends approval or denial for Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness/Specified Disease, Accident Insurance, Life products, and weekly income claims across various policies. The role also performs related duties. Flex employees are expected to work in the office at least three days per week; management may modify the weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Requirements

High school degree and two years of equivalent business- or related-work experience.
Good decision-making, problem-solving, and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex information.
PC proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
Excellent customer service skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

HIAA, LOMA, or ICA courses.
Aptitude for mathematics and critical thinking.
Knowledge of state regulations, statutes, and ERISA.
Knowledge of one or more of these core systems: ECM, STAR (Claim System), Genelco/GIAS, Salesforce, UTS, or Benefits Manager.
Knowledge of at least one of these claim types: Critical Illness/Specified Disease, Accidental Insurance, Hospital Indemnity, or Short-Term Disability.
Ability to speak and write Spanish fluently.

Responsibilities

Recommend approval or denial of claims.
Perform a variety of related duties.
