About The Position

The Air Force offers qualified applicants opportunities to be hired for certain occupations covered by Direct Hire Authorities (DHA). The use of DHA is a fast-track method of hiring applicants from the public with no prior federal status using a non-traditional method of recruitment. This Job Opportunity Announcement (JOA) will be used to form a pool of qualified applicants who will be considered for direct hire vacancies as they become available. Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1, 2, or 3-year probationary OR trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.

• Mastery knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support.
• Extensive knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of team building, developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and leading members as a cooperative team.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium (or large) sized organization.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.
• Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
• Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time over subordinate employees predominately in the Supply Group and journey level or higher.
• Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
• Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.
• Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals.
• Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
