About The Position

Serve as Supervisory Interdisciplinary of the Master Planning Division within the Directorate of Public Works (DPW), USAG Fort Huachuca, AZ. Duties include evaluating the effectiveness of subordinate operations through review and analysis of production reports and inspections, maintaining continuous contact with subordinate supervisors and division chiefs to exchange information on operational requirements, problems, and accomplishments. The role also involves applying multi-disciplined engineering knowledge to perform technical reviews of designs, plans, and project specifications, inspecting project progress to ensure adherence to schedule and budget, and providing architectural and engineering consulting services to tenant agencies and specialized engineering services organizations.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security Clearance, position is non-Critical sensitive and requires a SECRET security Clearance.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 10% or less of the time.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering accredited by ABET, or a degree with specific calculus and advanced science/physics courses.
  • Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that includes thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and practical understanding of engineering sciences and techniques, demonstrated by professional registration/licensure, passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, or specific academic courses.
  • For Architects: Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field with specific coursework, or a combination of education and experience.
  • For Community Planners: Bachelor's degree in community planning or related field with specific coursework, or a degree and work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes: Establishing policies and guidance for master planning activities, construction projects, and real property accountability; Resolving design/construction project conflicts; AND Managing operational resource requirements.
  • No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this position.
