About The Position

Directs a highly technical workforce providing air traffic control services and/or tactical and strategic support. The work affects the facility’s day-to-day effectiveness and efficiency, the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of aircraft, and the efficient operation of parts of the aviation industry. The Operations Manager reports to the Air Traffic Manager, and performance is evaluated based on how effectively assigned program objectives are achieved. Regular contacts include facility staff, peer managers, union representatives, higher-ranking managers and supervisors, the public, and aviation-industry representatives. Candidates must meet the stated specialized experience and managerial selection requirements. The position requires U.S. citizenship and a background investigation; additional conditions may include a probationary period and a financial disclosure filing. The assignment is temporary, not to exceed one year, and may be terminated, extended, or made permanent without further competition.
