Supervises the clinical staff in all departments ensuring appropriate hours of operation to meet the needs of patients and providers. Oversees staffing and scheduling of all clinical staff. Implements staff education plans and department-based inservice education sessions. Responsible for maintaining standards of staff competency regarding clinical performances, safety, OSHA, and all other regulatory bodies. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to staff. Leads and directs clinical staff meetings. Assists in the development of, and implements, quality improvement efforts. Maintains quality patient care through the review of complaints and suggestions. Identifies and studies recommendations for solutions to nursing service problems. Supports managers in preparation for, and orientation of, new providers. Works with new providers to assure adequate staffing and processes are in place. Enforces safety policies and procedures for staff and patients. Directs formal orientation for new employees. Assists in the formulation of the annual budget and is accountable for operating within the budget. Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations. Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
