Supervisor needed for Commercial Laundry
About The Position
The Supervisor assists the Valet Manager with daily work scheduling and ensures proper procedures are followed for valet customers. The role monitors production measurements against task-specific guidelines and reports results to the Manager. When a Manager is absent, the Supervisor assumes the Manager’s responsibilities with guidance from the Director of Operations. The Supervisor oversees staff and drivers, supports timely completion of work and deliveries, and helps maintain accurate production, inventory, and customer records. The role may also assist with other positions in the Laundry/Valet department as needed or directed by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Ability to follow valet procedures established by Five Star Hotel Laundry.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods; must lift linen bundles weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Basic English communication skills sufficient to understand safety labels and instructions and communicate with accounts.
- Ability to push or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
- Must be exact and detail-oriented to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability.
- High school diploma.
- Understanding of written and spoken English.
Nice To Haves
- Experience is preferred, but not required; training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Valet Manager in arranging the daily work schedule for valet.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for all valet customers.
- Monitor production work measurements against task-specific guidelines and report results to the Manager.
- Assume the Manager’s role and responsibilities during the Manager’s absence, with guidance from the Director of Operations.
- Help ensure hotel and corporate administrative requirements are met by completing production reports, inventorying uniforms and chemicals/dry-cleaning supplies, and accurately recording guest laundry and dry cleaning.
- Oversee and assign duties to staff, and check orders for completion and quality.
- Assist staff in meeting deadlines and production targets.
- Supervise drivers and ensure pickups and deliveries are made on time.
- Enforce departmental policies and procedures and issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Discard worn, torn, and faded linen according to established procedures.
- Assist in other Laundry/Valet department positions as needed or directed by the immediate supervisor.
