About The Position

The Terminal Planning Supervisor is responsible for the regional planning, development, and monitoring of inbound and outbound freight across terminals in Atlantic Canada.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education
  • 1-3 years’ experience in terminal operations, dock operations, LTL or planning.
  • Experience with TruckMate and Bringg applications.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel & Word; – an asset; must possess the aptitude for learning new programs.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to relay information (verbal and written) between several parties.
  • Strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, execute and escalate accordingly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment, appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Terminal Planners (P&D/Dock) within defined region.
  • Accountable for the daily, timely execution of Planning Service Level Agreement (SLA) ensuring appropriate scheduling model for adequate redundancy.
  • Provide feedback to local operations related to terminal owned SLA components and implement corrective actions for the next planning cycle.
  • Identify Planning reporting that aligns to the achievement of Terminal Operations KPIs and create action plans as required.
  • Review quality of output from Planning team (quality of route and load plans) and ensure adherence with transportation laws and company policies regarding weight and weight distribution, cubing, transportation of dangerous goods are being followed.
  • Review performance and deliverables of direct reports, providing coaching and corrective feedback as required.
  • Recommending suggestions for the overall improvement of planning and dock processes in partnership with National Manager, with a heightened focus on efficiency and service.
  • Engage with terminal operations on solution development in our service product offering.
  • Other related duties as may be required.
