About The Position

Supervisor Sterile Processing at Petaluma Valley Hospital. This position is Full time and will work 8-hour Day Shifts. The Sterile Processing Supervisor plans and directs the cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instrument trays and the surgical case cart system for Surgical Services, multiple procedure suites, and outlying patient care areas. In addition, the SPD Supervisor oversees all the SPD staff. This position reports directly to the Area Manager of Sterile Processing. The Sterile Processing Supervisor is a leader of the SPD team who performs a variety of tasks and activities to meet the hospital's needs consistent with the scope of practice for an unlicensed practitioner. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Experience related to sterile processing and surgical services.
  • Upon hire: National Certified Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • Upon hire: National Certified Endoscope Reprocessor - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • Upon hire: National Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • Upon hire: National Certified Healthcare Leader - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • Upon hire: National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • Upon hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • Upon hire: National Management in Sterile Processing - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • 3 years Experience as a sterile processing technician or surgical technician/technologist or related leadership experience.
  • 1 year Progressively responsible managerial experience in decontamination, sterilization and processing of surgical trays and carts in an acute care or ambulatory surgical setting or related surgical operations managerial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs the cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instrument trays and the surgical case cart system for Surgical Services, multiple procedure suites, and outlying patient care areas.
  • Oversees all the SPD staff.
