About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience working within a laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, research, or regulated industry environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams and operational functions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including reviewing and analyzing operational data in Excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with SAP, vendor management systems, or similar data management platforms.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in a GMP-regulated facility is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 15 associates across multiple laboratory support functions.
  • Oversee daily operations for: Glasswash and autoclave services, Bioreactor assembly, Pipette management and calibration programs, Vendor escorting services, Gas cylinder management.
  • Manage relationships and performance of third-party vendors supporting dry ice, garments, and gas services.
  • Maintain accountability for site performance, KPIs, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, GxP, and customer-specific laboratory requirements.
  • Partner with customers to address operational needs, escalations, and service planning.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Manage site-level operational and financial performance, including labor productivity and resource planning.
  • Serve as the primary management contact for laboratory support operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Paid on-call rotation approximately once per quarter, shared among four managers.
  • Must be available to respond to occasional after-hours calls related to gas manifold alarms and liquid nitrogen cylinder exchanges.
  • On-site response may be required during on-call periods, although events typically occur only one to two times per year.
  • Required to report on-site at least once per quarter during scheduled on-call rotation.
