About The Position

MBI, Inc., a leading direct marketing company, is seeking a take-charge, hands-on individual for a challenging supervisory position in our Torrington location. This role involves monitoring the work of 6 to 12 employees and fulfillment operations. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, and dedicated to high standards of excellence, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, results-oriented, and detail-based environment. This is an "on the floor" job where 70-80% of your time will be spent working with your team to ensure workflow and solve issues creatively.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a high volume, results orientated and detail-based environment.
  • Previous experience supervising a team of 6 -12 or more
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience supervising in a warehouse/fulfillment setting
  • Experience in labor/capacity planning based on work volume/backlogs
  • Comfortable using computer systems including Outlook, Excel, Word and experience with company systems like customer order management or other non-Microsoft software/applications

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the shipping production prep area (batching/kitting documents; matching product to customer invoices, proofing that customer invoices correctly generate, looking up customer accounts, etc.)
  • Proven track record leading and motivating a successful team
  • Fostering a cooperative, respectful, and supportive work environment
  • Navigating peaks, valleys, and “change” proactively
  • Monitoring and developing individual contributors to achieve results at a highly effective level including providing feedback and writing/administering regular employee performance reviews and evaluations
  • Working with the department manager to establish daily labor plans based on work backlogs
  • Delegating tasks strategically to optimize workflow, monitoring daily workloads and ensuring the team is working efficiently and consistently to standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a safe work area that is neat and organized
