About The Position

This role ensures the efficient use of resources and labor by reviewing scheduling and staffing needs. The Supervisor acts as a liaison between staff and department leadership, communicating important issues promptly. They maintain good working relationships with all customers and collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members. This position serves as a role model by demonstrating leadership, communication, initiative, personal and professional growth, poise, and self-control. The Supervisor also acts as a resource person, assists with clinical duties when needed, and maintains all required clinical competencies. They practice and enforce standard precautions and safety regulations according to hospital policies. The role involves attending new leader orientation and ongoing management/leadership classes, and adhering to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, they monitor staff activities in the clinical setting to ensure services are provided according to department and facility policies and procedures, and demonstrate professional standards and ethics, showing regard for the dignity, confidentiality, and respect of all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital personnel. Participation in and proactive initiation of performance improvement activities are expected, as is timely completion of performance appraisals, staff counseling, and initiation of progressive discipline as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge and appropriate implementation of applicable regulatory and professional standards
Effective oral and written communication skills, including documentation in the patient care record (EMR)
Ability to handle multiple projects and initiatives and make appropriate decisions in stressful situations
Ability to maintain good working relationships and open lines of communication with all and collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity of patient care
Develop and implement educational processes for all team members and able to function as manager in the absence of the manager
Critical thinking and patient assessment skills with the ability to evaluate and modify treatment plans utilizing respiratory therapy driven protocols
Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English
Associate's degree
3+ years critical care experience
State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) OR NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)

Bachelor's degree
in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science
