This role ensures the efficient use of resources and labor by reviewing scheduling and staffing needs. The Supervisor acts as a liaison between staff and department leadership, communicating important issues promptly. They maintain good working relationships with all customers and communicate effectively with other healthcare team members. Serving as a role model, this position demonstrates leadership, communication, initiative, personal and professional growth, poise, and self-control. The Supervisor acts as a resource person, assists with clinical duties when needed, and maintains all required clinical competencies. They practice and enforce standard precautions and safety regulations according to hospital policies. This role involves attending new leader orientation and ongoing management/leadership classes, and adhering to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The Supervisor monitors staff activities in the clinical setting to ensure services are provided according to department and facility policies and procedures. They demonstrate professional standards and ethics, showing regard for the dignity, confidentiality, and respect of all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital personnel. Participation in and proactive initiation of performance improvement activities are expected. The Supervisor completes performance appraisals on time, counsels staff, and initiates progressive discipline as needed. Other duties as assigned.
