About The Position

The Registration & Membership Services department (RMS) is seeking a Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of RMS support teams. Leading by example, success in this role will be measured through effective staff engagement, change and process management, and customer satisfaction. A solutions-focused mindset and the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently is paramount to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education required
  • Minimum two years’ supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership, team building, and people management skills
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts as well as adapt to and effect change
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound independent judgements and decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, and other telecommunication platforms
  • Thorough knowledge of the RHPA and other relevant health care legislation

Responsibilities

  • In line with CPSO’s core values, lead and monitor the work of employees and coach and develop employees to ensure the attainment of the team’s objectives and mandate.
  • Develop approaches to attract, train and retain professionals with the requisite skills and interest in pursuing a career in a health professional regulatory body.
  • Coach, develop and seek opportunities to increase the capabilities of employees.
  • Clearly define and monitor performance expectations on key performance indicators (KPIs) and results of employees on an on-going basis, provide support/ guidance to meet goals and identify areas requiring adjustment in performance and/or behaviour and apply the required corrective action.
  • Work with the teams to prioritize work and ensure published deadlines and established benchmarks are met.
  • Develop and document standards and expectations of staff roles that are consistent with and support the College’s strategic direction.
  • Performance management and providing ongoing support, coaching, and performance related feedback.
  • Inform decision-making around seasonal business demands, and oversee hiring and coordination of temporary staff.
  • Conduct huddles, regular unit/division meetings, and one on ones with staff to discuss current work challenges, advise of new information and review area goals.
  • Inform and support both internal and external stakeholders with regards to College processes and changes, either in person, by phone or through written communication.
  • Communicate with other regulatory agencies as required.
  • Send official College correspondence to registrants, applicants, members of the public and external stakeholders.
