About The Position

As a Production Supervisor, you will monitor production operations and ensure they deliver maximum quality in a profitable manner. Duties include monitoring employees, organizing workflows, and analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing processes. The role leads the production team and oversees safe, efficient, timely production in accordance with Freshpet quality standards and applicable industry and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Knowledge of time and attendance systems.
Strong understanding of sanitation processes in a food manufacturing facility.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Experience implementing SQF programs preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead production team members and be responsible for their safety.
Facilitate daily and weekly production of all products, ensuring efficient and timely output in accordance with Freshpet quality standards.
Manage and direct daily production goals safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently while ensuring industry and regulatory standards are met.
Review production records for accuracy and ensure records are properly maintained.
Ensure sanitation, housekeeping, and overall facility cleanliness comply with quality standards.
Ensure Operations compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, factory GMPs, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
Analyze labor efficiency and allocations to meet demand; schedule vacations and time off; manage overtime; and oversee the timekeeping system.
Develop and motivate direct reports to improve work efficiency and pursue clearly identified goals.
Conduct and document regular communication, production, and safety meetings; keep team members informed and encourage feedback and ideas.
Address team member issues and deliver corrective action related to behavior, safety, quality, GMPs, sanitation, work standards, and time infractions; partner with HR for direction and guidance as needed.
Lead or assist with team member orientation and training.
Maintain thorough, current knowledge of the factory and its systems.
Participate as an active team player and motivated individual.
Support continuous improvement in processes and work conditions.
Perform other duties as required.
