Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School degree.
  • 10 years of Bedding experience, understanding all aspects of specifications and Drawings.
  • Detail oriented with time management and decision making skills
  • Communication and people management skills
  • Experience with and extensive knowledge of the PDM system

Nice To Haves

  • College experience a plus
  • Experience with suppliers or customers a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the life cycle of a product, from its initial engineering spec all the way through to its marketing debut to the public.
  • Create raw material numbers and support Engineers in the development of specifications.
  • Analyze various product documentations for errors or omissions.
  • Provide support for Canada and Mexico specifications.
  • Support PDM improvements, modifications, and maintenance within New Product Development.
  • Supervise Solidworks Contractors to modify and update specification drawings.
  • Responsible for all shared Master Specifications, Process Descriptions and Variance file maintenance.
  • Manage anticipated data input workload fluctuations, and manage personnel accordingly.
  • Recommend New Product Launch product set up improvements and performance measurement criteria and target levels.
  • Manage law tag set up and accuracy.
  • Supervise the development and maintenance of all process specifications and drawings.
  • Coordinates R&D, BOM and Marketing efforts to achieve desired time frame and product quality.
  • Supervises the Specification Coordinators and Solidworks Contractors to develop and distribute specifications.
  • Distributes and follows-up with factories on questions/issues.
  • Coordinates the necessary functions to modify based upon field issues/concerns.
  • Provide technical expertise to both the Design Engineer and PMO in the development of new products and methods.
  • Manage the variance process.
  • Provides expertise in allowable product substitutions and changes to product specifications to meet quality and customer goals.
  • Stays up-to-date on all federal and state regulations regarding flammability.
  • Update law tags as needed
  • Supervise the date entry for PDM. (Hire, train, monitor, prioritize, etc.)
  • Maintain PGC and raw material databases
  • Conduct or supervise ongoing audits to insure accurate specifications, product weights and law tag information.
  • Recommend and implement required changes to the Corporate and local plant data files.
  • Issue and control item numbering and standardized Corporate descriptions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
