About The Position

Provide professional management and leadership in support of Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s Pharmacists, Technicians, and Support Personnel. Provide professional pharmaceutical care for Roper St. Francis Healthcare inpatients and outpatients by establishing, practicing, and promoting high standards of quality care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited A.C.P.E. College of Pharmacy.
  • At least three years of hospital experience.
  • Licensed by the Board of Pharmacy to practice the profession of Pharmacy in South Carolina.
  • Knowledge of professional pharmacy practices.
  • Knowledge of hospital pharmacy medication distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and pharmacy automation systems.
  • Possesses skills necessary to monitor medication therapies in relation to the age of the patient to include pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting the English language.
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with patients, hospital/medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Requires prolonged standing or sitting.
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
  • Requires normal vision range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours.
  • Constant interaction with patients, family members, physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff members and other ancillary personnel.
  • Frequent standing.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying up to 25 lbs.
  • Intermittent pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity.
  • Frequent reaching with hands/arms.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Possible exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue.
  • Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment.
  • Possible exposure to unclean environments, toxic substances, pharmaceutical preparations, hazardous and unsafe driving conditions, and other conditions common to a Pharmacy environment.
  • Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, personal computers, and telephones.
  • Requires the use of automated dispensing equipment.
  • Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours.
  • Ability to read and comprehend.
