Provides operational support to BAT Manager through staff onboarding, development and engagement; scheduling; auditing; collaboration with interdepartmental partners; and other duties as assigned. Provides direct, daily support and supervision of assigned licensed, professional, and technical staff. Duties may also include providing direct services as a behavioral health nurse and an MCPP trainer. Essential Functions Understands and optimizes Behavioral Assessment Team specialty consult services to promote safe, successful care of any patient in service purview presenting with complex needs and and/or at risk behaviors requiring crisis prevention and de-escalation support. Ensures that all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory and licensing requirements are appropriately followed/utilized, maintaining fidelity to best and safest practices, meeting quality measures. Provides supervision and direct support to licensed, technical, and professional team staff. Position may include oversight and support to staff who are mentoring trainees. Includes teaching and modeling principles and practices that inform patient, family, and staff safety. Functions as an active member of the larger leadership team. Assists with program operations, maintenance, and quality assurance tasks including operational data collection, utilization of lean management practices informed by system data and outcomes/quality activities, report writing, scheduling, and other duties as assigned. Fosters a professional, safe, and collaborative environment within the assigned team as well as a high level of engagement. Sets clear expectations for the development of each employee’s skills and professional identity to facilitate accomplishment of required level of work, their goals, and those of the team and system. Supports consistent, high-quality patient and family/caregiver experience. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Ensures patients receive equitable, trauma-informed, evidence-based support to achieve successful engagement in required treatment interventions, with particular focus on preventing and addressing crisis behaviors. Teaches and models Marcus Crisis Prevention Program curriculum on staff resiliency, patient crisis prevention, whole person health principles, safety planning, crisis de-escalation, and physical management techniques. Participates in Behavioral Emergency Response Team direct service provision, simulation, coordination, data collection, and process improvement activities.
