The Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing and monitoring the Nursing department(s) during an assigned shift. This role ensures patient care delivery aligns with nursing standards, federal, state, and local regulations, and promotes a positive environment for professional nursing practice. The supervisor also drives continuous quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes, manages patient flow, and provides leadership across multiple hospital departments when the RN unit manager, director, or administration is absent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • 3 years of acute Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Nursing or Supervisory/Leadership experience required
  • Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and monitoring the Nursing department(s) on an assigned shift in accordance with nursing standards and practices as well as current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations
  • Ensuring the appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the utilization of the Nursing Process
  • Creating a positive environment for the professional practice of nursing (RN)
  • Ensuring activities foster continuous quality improvement to enhance patient care outcomes
  • Ensuring patient flow throughout the organization
  • Providing leadership for multiple hospital departments in the absence of the RN unit manager, director, or administration
