About The Position

The Patient Access Supervisor will supervise, train, and motivate a team of Patient Access Representatives, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations. This role oversees the patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-authorization processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. The supervisor will implement quality control measures, foster a patient-centered care culture, and provide ongoing training and development for staff. Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA, CMS, and state-specific guidelines is crucial. The role involves monitoring key performance metrics, analyzing data for improvements, and collaborating with other hospital departments for a coordinated approach to patient access and revenue cycle management. Reporting on departmental performance to Senior Managers, managing timecards, employee management (hiring, discipline, evaluations), and scheduling the team are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 Years Experience in patient access, registration, or related roles, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in healthcare information systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.

  • Oversee the patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-authorization processes, ensuring that they are conducted efficiently and accurately.
  • Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and discrepancies in patient information and financial data.
  • Foster a culture of patient-centered care within the department, ensuring patients have a positive experience during the registration and admission process.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to keep them updated on industry trends and regulations.
  • Ensure that the department complies with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and state specific guidelines.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other hospital departments, such as finance, admissions, and medical records, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient access and revenue cycle management.
  • Prepare and submit reports on departmental performance, including key performance indicators, to the Senior Managers
  • Manage Timecards
