About The Position

The Phlebotomy Supervisor monitors all Pre-analytical activities performed in Frederick Health facilities. In compliance with CLIA regulations, the Supervisor oversees all phlebotomy procedures to assure they meet prescribed standards. This position performs functional duties in the Pre-Analytic and Analytic (i.e. – bleeding time) phases in the Laboratory Path of Workflow. Complies with the CLIA standards listed as responsibilities for high complexity general supervisors under 42CFR493.1463. Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with site policy for new hires.
  • As required by site location, current, valid driver's license and car insurance required.
  • Five years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Must be proficient with neonates, infants, children, adults and the elderly.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry preferred.
  • Certification from approved phlebotomy program preferred.
  • Progressive roles of increasing responsibility are highly desirable.
