About The Position

The Roger Bacon Academy is an education management organization that manages multiple charter schools in southeastern North Carolina. Classical Charter Schools of Leland, located in Leland, NC is always seeking outstanding applications for future openings for Interventionists. The position of Interventionist reports to the Headmaster. This position is a 10-month position that follows the school academic calendar. The following mission outlines the expectations of all employees at the school level as well as employees of The Roger Bacon Academy in providing support to the schools: Our understandings of humankind and our universe are expressed and communicated through all of our arts and sciences. Each method of expression – language, painting, music, mathematics, and science – has its rules and techniques for effectively communicating these ideas and understandings. These rules and techniques are the bridges over which ideas must be communicated from one generation to the next. Requirements

An Associate’s degree or proof of completion of at least two years of college credits in any field is required; focus in education and early childhood development desired.
Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Ability to perform clerical duties.
Ability to operate common office machines.
Ability to maintain basic files and records.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments.

Responsibilities

Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for academic services in individual, and/or small group settings.
Supplements the Content Teacher in successfully preparing students with the knowledge and strategies they will need in order to master the curriculum and achieve a passing score on standardized tests.
Helps students learn skills that will contribute to their social development.
Instructs students in a small group setting using content materials provided by academic coaches.
Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of school standards.
Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students.
Follows all rules, policies and procedures of The Roger Bacon Academy, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Provides evidence of preparation and planning upon request of supervisor.
Assesses the accomplishments of intervention students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
Encourages and rewards positive behavior.
Attends grade level and staff meetings, serves on staff committees and carries out non-instructional duties as required as assigned.
Produces instructional data reports in accordance with calendar from Lead Teacher and Coaches.
Remains flexible and positive for any given assignment.
